Clean island campaign
21.03.2026 - 21.03.2026
It's that time again: the people of Juist are calling on everyone to clean up the island and hopefully keep it clean!
Together with the island community, the fire brigade and IG Loog, the Juist local history association is once again organising the "Clean Island" litter collection campaign.
Of course, we all try not to leave any rubbish lying around, but sometimes a handkerchief slips out of your pocket or something. Before the season really starts, hard-boiled volunteers walk around the island, collect rubbish and make Töwerland fit for the summer, so to speak.
Any help is welcome!
The procedure:
On Saturday, 02 March, the Clean Island campaign will take place again. This time there will be two actions:
- In the village: Meeting point at 15:00 at the fire station
- In the Loog: Meeting point at 15:00 at the Loogster Hus
Here you will be divided into groups and possibly taken to your locations by the fire brigade. Rubbish bags and gloves will be provided.
After you have diligently cleared the island of rubbish, there will be barbecue sausages and drinks for the hard-working helpers at the fire station. Swimming pool tickets and small prizes will also be distributed.
But above all, you can be sure of our gratitude for your support!
Many thanks, of course, to the hard-working organisers.
